FULL RELAY ON WALMART · MANAGED STORE SERVICE
Managed Walmart store service, from the seller application to daily running
Full Relay on Walmart is a managed Walmart store service for owners who want a team to research and source the product with them, launch it on Walmart Marketplace and run the store day to day under their approval. We prepare your seller application in your business's name, set up items to Walmart's rules, send your first stock into Walmart Fulfillment Services and run the store every business day against Walmart's performance standards. You own the account and approve every product, supplier, price and purchase.
Performance model $2,499 plus a commission set in your agreement · Retainer $1,499 onboarding, then from $999 a month
Quick answer
A managed Walmart store is a Walmart Marketplace account run day to day by a team while the owner keeps the account and decisions. Full Relay covers research, sourcing, the seller application, item setup, WFS and daily running. Walmart asks for a business tax ID and ecommerce selling history, so for a brand-new business Walmart is often the second channel. Pricing: $2,499 plus a commission, or $1,499 then from $999 a month.
Most new stores take months to find steady sales, and some never do. Inventory, platform fees, freight and ad spend are paid by you.
Can a new business sell on Walmart yet?
Often not on day one. Walmart Marketplace accepts sellers by application, and its minimum qualifications include a track record of selling on a marketplace or in ecommerce (Walmart Marketplace FAQ, checked Oct 20, 2026). That single requirement shapes how Full Relay works on Walmart.
Walmart lists these qualifications:
| Walmart asks for | What it means for you |
|---|---|
| A business tax ID or business license number; Social Security Numbers are not accepted | You need a registered business, not just a personal SSN |
| Documents that verify your business name and address | Formation documents, a utility bill or a bank letter in the business name |
| Prior success selling on a marketplace or in ecommerce | Selling history from Amazon, Shopify or another channel |
| Products with GTINs or UPCs under GS1 company prefixes | Barcodes bought from GS1, not resold codes |
| An account with Marketplace Wallet or a third-party payment provider | Payouts in your business's name |
| A catalog that follows Walmart's Prohibited Products Policy | Product research checks this before you buy |
| Fulfillment through Walmart Fulfillment Services or a US business-to-consumer warehouse that handles returns, while meeting Walmart's performance standards | WFS or a 3PL that can take returns |
If you have no selling history, we will tell you so before you pay us. The usual Full Relay plan is to launch on Amazon or Shopify first, build a record and then apply to Walmart, which the Growth retainer covers as a second channel. Walmart decides every application; we prepare it properly and tell you what it asks for.
What we do on Walmart, stage by stage
Each stage ends with a decision or a sign-off from you. Here is the general Full Relay scope as it runs on Walmart.
| Stage | Our work on Walmart | Done when |
|---|---|---|
| Product research | Demand evidence, competing offers and price bands on Walmart.com; referral fee by contract category; WFS fees by size and weight; prohibited and restricted product checks | You approve the products from a written shortlist |
| Sourcing | Suppliers vetted; samples checked; GS1 barcodes and WFS packaging rules written into the order | You approve the supplier and pay the order directly |
| Application and account | Seller application prepared with you and submitted in your business's name; payment account and tax details set up by you | The account is approved and you hold the owner login and Admin role |
| Item setup | Items built to Walmart's item and content rules, mapped from your Amazon or Shopify catalog where you already sell | Items are published and not unpublished for errors |
| WFS launch | WFS onboarding and the first inbound shipment, or your 3PL connected; launch pricing rules you approve | First shipment received at a Walmart fulfillment center and orderable |
| Daily running | Orders, customer messages, performance standards, unpublished items, stock and reorder alerts | Logged every business day; weekly written update |
How we research products for Walmart
Walmart gives sellers fewer public demand tools than Amazon, so we triangulate. We look at demand evidence from Amazon's niche data (where you have a Seller Central account) and keyword tools, then check the Walmart.com search results for the same terms: how many sellers offer the product, how close their prices sit, who holds the Buy Box and whether Walmart itself sells it.
Price matters more on Walmart than almost anywhere else, because shoppers compare it with Walmart's own prices. A product that only works at a premium price may be a better Amazon or Shopify product. We say that plainly.
Fees come next. Walmart charges no monthly fee. Its referral fee is set by contract category: 15% for the Everything Else category, and each category has its own rate (Walmart referral fee schedule, Mar 9, 2026). WFS fees depend on size and weight, so we measure samples. The full method is on our product research and sourcing page.
Brand protection on Walmart
Walmart Brand Portal is where a brand owner reports IP problems and controls who can edit item content. It needs a trademark fully registered with the USPTO, with an active seven-digit registration number. An application that is still pending, with only an eight-digit serial number, is not yet eligible (Walmart Marketplace Learn, updated Oct 14, 2025). That is a stricter rule than Amazon Brand Registry, which accepts pending trademarks.
Once enrolled, the brand owner can submit IP claims and assign acting brand owner or authorized reseller status to sellers. The acting brand owner, one per brand, can update item content over every other seller and set up a brand shop. If your trademark is still pending, we prepare the Brand Portal application with you the week it registers.
Daily running against Walmart's performance standards
Walmart lists eight seller performance standards, and a store that falls short of them can face action on its account (Walmart Marketplace Learn, Jul 28, 2026). We check them every business day.
| Standard | Walmart's threshold |
|---|---|
| Cancellation rate | 2% or below |
| On-time delivery | 90% or above |
| Valid tracking | 99% or above |
| Seller response within 48 hours | 95% or above |
| Negative feedback | 2% or below |
| Return rate | 6% or below (9% for resold items) |
| Item not received | 2% or below |
| Late shipment | 5% or below |
With WFS, Walmart ships the orders, so delivery and tracking standards rest mostly on Walmart. Response time, cancellations and returns stay with your store, and they are where we spend the daily effort. You can read every threshold with context in our guide to Walmart seller performance standards.
The rest of the daily work: unpublished items are checked every business day and fixed or escalated to Walmart (see Walmart item unpublished), WFS stock is checked against sales, purchase orders go to you for approval and customer messages are answered. Our WFS management and Walmart account health pages show the detail.
Walmart's New-Seller Savings
Walmart runs a New-Seller Savings program worth up to $75K in incentives. It runs from Feb 2, 2026 to Jan 31, 2027. Sellers must go live after Feb 1, 2026 to qualify, and conditions apply (Walmart). We track the opt-in steps and deadlines with you. Walmart decides eligibility, and a discount on fees is never a reason to launch a product whose numbers do not work.
Full Relay pricing on Walmart
Both Full Relay pricing models work on Walmart. Because Walmart usually follows another channel, most Walmart stores sit on Growth or Full Scale.
| Performance model | Retainer: Starter | Retainer: Growth | Retainer: Full Scale | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Upfront | $2,499 service fee | $1,499 onboarding | $1,499 onboarding | $1,499 onboarding |
| Then | A commission on your store's results, at a rate set in your written agreement | $999 a month | $1,999 a month | $3,999 a month |
| Channels | Set in your agreement | One | Two, for example Amazon and Walmart | Amazon, Walmart and Shopify |
| SKUs | Set in your agreement | Up to 10 | Up to 30 | Up to 75 |
| Research and sourcing | Set in your agreement | 1 product line | Up to 3 product lines | Ongoing |
| Ad management | Set in your agreement | Flat-fee add-on | Up to $5,000 of monthly spend | Up to $15,000 of monthly spend |
When your store sells, we earn. When it does not, you owe no commission. The commission is never a promise that your store will sell or make a profit. The $2,499 service fee is paid at signing and is not tied to results. Retainers have a first term of 3 months, then run month to month with 30 days' notice. Prices exclude sales tax where it applies. See Pricing and terms for everything in one place.
Paid by you directly: Walmart referral fees, WFS fees, GS1 barcodes, Walmart Connect ad spend, your supplier, freight, duties and inspection. Ad management on Walmart Connect is in the Growth and Full Scale retainers, or available as our flat-fee Walmart advertising management add-on.
Who Full Relay on Walmart suits
It suits companies with a registered business, a product that can compete on price and either some ecommerce selling history or a plan to build it on another channel first. It does not suit anyone who needs Walmart as a first and only channel with no history, anyone without a business tax ID or anyone who wants to buy a running store.
If you already have a product, selling history and a supplier, Walmart store launch at a fixed $1,499 costs less. For an overview of everything we do on the channel, see Walmart marketplace management.
We do not sell stores and we never promise income. Our comparison of a managed store service and a store-for-sale program shows how to check any provider, including us.
Access and ownership on Walmart
The Walmart seller account is in your business's name and you keep the Admin role. We work through a limited Seller Center role with multi-factor authentication and named users only, never your password, and with no access to payout, bank or tax settings. If the work ends, our access is removed within 24 hours and you keep every item, listing and report. Full detail: security and access.
Ecomrelays LLC is a Texas company. Part of our team works outside the US, as one managed team with a named US-facing lead.
How much does a managed Walmart store cost with Full Relay?
On the performance model, $2,499 at signing, then a commission on your store's results at a rate set in your written agreement. On the retainer, $1,499 onboarding, then $999 a month for one channel, $1,999 for two or $3,999 for Amazon, Walmart and Shopify. Walmart's fees, WFS fees, inventory, freight and ad spend are paid by you.
Can I start on Walmart with a brand-new business?
Usually not. Walmart asks for a track record of selling on a marketplace or in ecommerce, plus a business tax ID. If you have neither, we recommend launching on Amazon or Shopify first and applying to Walmart once you have a record. We tell you this in writing before you pay.
Can you get my Walmart application approved?
No one can promise that. Walmart decides every application. We prepare it with you, check the documents Walmart asks for and submit it in your business's name. If Walmart declines, we review the reason with you and plan a reapplication where one is possible.
Who owns the Walmart account?
You do. It is in your business's name, you keep the Admin role and payouts go to your account. Every item and listing stays yours if you leave.
Do I have to use WFS?
No. Walmart accepts WFS or a US business-to-consumer warehouse that handles returns. We compare WFS fees with your 3PL's rates per product during research and recommend one. WFS takes delivery and tracking off your plate; a 3PL can share stock with your other channels.
Do I need GS1 barcodes?
Walmart asks for GTINs or UPCs under GS1 company prefixes. We include the GS1 step in your setup plan and make sure barcodes are on the product or packaging before the first order ships from your supplier.
Will my Walmart store make money?
Nobody can honestly promise it. Most new stores take months to find steady sales, and some never do. We price every product after Walmart's referral and WFS fees before you buy, run the store daily and report weekly. Sales depend on the product, price, competition and ads.
What is Walmart Brand Portal and do I need it?
Brand Portal lets a brand owner file IP claims and control who edits item content. It needs a trademark fully registered with the USPTO; a pending application is not yet eligible. You can sell without it, but it protects your item content once other sellers list the same product.
How long until my Walmart store is live?
Typically 6 to 12 weeks from the start of research for the product work, but Walmart's application review sets its own pace and needs selling history. If Walmart is your second channel, its launch usually follows the first channel. We tell you in writing what moved and why.
Full Relay also runs on other channels: see Full Relay on Amazon, Full Relay on Shopify or the overview of Full Relay, our managed store service.
