FULL RELAY ON SHOPIFY · MANAGED STORE SERVICE
Managed Shopify store service for new brands, from the product to daily running
Full Relay on Shopify is a managed Shopify store service for founders who want a branded store of their own, with the product researched and sourced first. We test product ideas against search demand and the real cost of winning a customer, source the product with you, set up your Shopify store, connect fulfillment and run the store every business day. The store, the domain, the customer list and the stock are yours, and you approve every product, supplier, price and purchase.
Performance model $2,499 plus a commission set in your agreement · Retainer $1,499 onboarding, then from $999 a month
Quick answer
A managed Shopify store is a Shopify store whose daily work is run by a team while the owner keeps the store and decisions. Full Relay adds product research and sourcing before launch. Shopify brings no shoppers of its own, so research weighs what it costs to win each customer through ads and search. You pay Shopify and suppliers directly. Pricing: $2,499 plus a commission, or $1,499 then from $999 a month.
Most new stores take months to find steady sales, and some never do. Inventory, platform fees, freight and ad spend are paid by you.
Why a Shopify store needs different research
On Amazon and Walmart, shoppers are already searching the marketplace. On Shopify, nobody arrives unless you bring them, through ads, search, social, email or a marketplace channel. So the question for a Shopify product is not only "is there demand?" but "what will it cost us to reach the people who want it, and will they buy again?"
That changes what we test before you buy anything:
- Search demand outside marketplaces. Are people searching for the problem the product solves, and are those searches growing or fading?
- Cost to win a customer. A sample ad test, or ad cost benchmarks for the category, against your margin per order.
- Order value. Can the product be bundled or sold in sets so one ad click pays for more than one unit?
- Repeat purchase. Consumables and refills can cover the cost of winning the first order across later orders; one-off products cannot.
- Shipping to the customer. On Shopify you pay to ship each order (or your 3PL does and bills you), so weight and size matter as much as on Amazon.
The full method, including supplier vetting and landed cost, is on our product research and sourcing page.
A worked example of Shopify order math
This shows the screening test a product goes through for a Shopify store. The figures are made up to show the method and are not a forecast.
Illustrative · sample figures
| Line | Per order |
|---|---|
| Order value (2 units at $24.00) | $48.00 |
| Shopify Payments, standard card at 2.9% + 30 cents | $1.69 |
| Landed cost of 2 units | $13.00 |
| Pick, pack and shipping to the customer | $8.50 |
| Ad cost to win the order | $18.00 |
| Margin on the first order, before apps, returns and overheads | $6.81 |
In this sample the first order clears its direct costs by $6.81, about 14% of the order, which is thin. The ad cost is the line that decides it: if it rises from $18.00 to $25.00, the first order loses money. Repeat purchase changes the test, because a returning customer may not need the same ad spend again, but whether customers come back is something research can only estimate. If a product only works when a customer buys three times, we tell you, because that is a bigger bet. None of this predicts how many orders you will get or whether the store will make money.
What we do on Shopify, stage by stage
Each stage ends with something you approve. This is the general Full Relay scope as it runs on Shopify.
| Stage | Our work on Shopify | Done when |
|---|---|---|
| Product research | Search demand, competing stores and price points, cost to win a customer, order value and repeat-purchase potential, shipping cost per order, product safety checks | You approve the products from a written shortlist |
| Sourcing | Suppliers vetted; samples checked; packaging that survives parcel shipping; landed cost per unit | You approve the supplier and pay the order directly |
| Store setup | Shopify plan chosen with you; a theme set up to your brand; product pages, policies, payments, shipping, taxes and notifications checked with test orders | Test orders pass and you approve the store |
| Fulfillment | Your 3PL connected, or your own shipping set up; stock synced with Amazon and Walmart if you sell there too | First stock received and orderable |
| Launch | Launch plan, email capture and welcome flow, launch campaigns on budget rules you approve | The store is live and taking orders |
| Daily running | Orders, failed payments and fraud flags, customer emails, returns, stock and reorder alerts, app checks | Logged every business day; weekly written update |
Store setup in Full Relay uses a Shopify theme set up to your brand. A custom-designed store, a Shopify Plus build or a migration from another platform is our separate Store Build service, from $4,999 for custom Shopify and from $14,999 for Shopify Plus or a migration. See Shopify migration and store build.
What running a Shopify store looks like each week
The daily work on Shopify is customer-facing more than on the marketplaces, because there is no marketplace in the middle answering questions, handling refunds or shipping orders for you.
| Every business day | Every week | Every month |
|---|---|---|
| New orders checked; stuck, failed or flagged orders cleared | Written update: what was done, what is waiting, what is next | Results review: orders, fees, margin per order and stock |
| Customer emails and chat answered | Ad spend and cost per order reviewed against your budget rules | App subscriptions checked against what they still do |
| Shipping exceptions and returns handled inside your written policy | Purchase orders sent for your approval | Supplier lead times and the next order checked |
| Stock checked across channels so you do not oversell | Reviews and refund reasons read for product problems | Email flows and product pages reviewed |
Where you sell on Amazon or Walmart too, one stock count serves every channel, set up the way our inventory and 3PL service describes. Repeat work such as order tagging and low-stock alerts is set up with Shopify's own automation tools where they fit; see Shopify automation.
What you pay Shopify and others
Shopify's Basic plan is $39 a month billed monthly, or $29 a month billed yearly, and online payments through Shopify Payments cost 2.9% plus 30 cents per standard card order; some cards cost more (Shopify pricing, checked Oct 20, 2026). Apps, a paid theme, your domain, shipping labels or 3PL fees, inventory, freight and ad spend are on top, all paid by you directly.
The Basic plan includes no additional staff accounts. That does not limit us: we work through a collaborator account, which Shopify built for service providers and which does not count toward your user limit (Shopify Help Center, checked Oct 20, 2026).
Full Relay pricing on Shopify
Both Full Relay pricing models work on Shopify. Starter covers one channel, so a Shopify-only store fits it.
| Performance model | Retainer: Starter | Retainer: Growth | Retainer: Full Scale | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Upfront | $2,499 service fee | $1,499 onboarding | $1,499 onboarding | $1,499 onboarding |
| Then | A commission on your store's results, at a rate set in your written agreement | $999 a month | $1,999 a month | $3,999 a month |
| Channels | Set in your agreement | Shopify only | Shopify plus one more | Amazon, Walmart and Shopify |
| SKUs | Set in your agreement | Up to 10 | Up to 30 | Up to 75 |
| Research and sourcing | Set in your agreement | 1 product line | Up to 3 product lines | Ongoing |
| Ad management | Set in your agreement | Flat-fee add-on | Up to $5,000 of monthly spend | Up to $15,000 of monthly spend |
When your store sells, we earn. When it does not, you owe no commission. The commission is never a promise that your store will sell or make a profit. The $2,499 service fee is paid at signing and is not tied to results. Retainers have a first term of 3 months, then run month to month with 30 days' notice. Prices exclude sales tax where it applies. See Pricing and terms.
On Shopify, ads are how most new stores get their first visitors, so think hard about who will run them. If you will run ads yourself, Starter works. If you want us to run them, add flat-fee ad management at $299 a month for up to $5,000 of spend, or choose Growth, which includes it.
Who Full Relay on Shopify suits
It suits founders who want a brand they control, a customer list they own and the freedom to sell on Amazon and Walmart later. It needs a budget for ads as well as inventory, because a new Shopify store with no ad spend usually sees very few visitors.
It does not suit anyone who wants a ready-made store with traffic attached, anyone who plans to dropship products they have never seen or anyone who wants to buy a running store. We do not sell stores and we never promise income. Our comparison of a managed store service and a store-for-sale program shows how to check any provider, including us.
If you already have a product and a supplier, Shopify store launch at a fixed $999 is the lighter path. For everything we do on the platform, see Shopify store management.
Access and ownership on Shopify
You are the store owner on Shopify and you keep ownership of the store, the domain and the customer data. We work through a collaborator account: you share a 4-digit request code, approve the access we ask for and can narrow or remove it at any time. Collaborators must use two-step authentication, cannot be given the store's Administrator role and cannot receive ownership (Shopify Help Center). We take no access to payouts or billing. If the work ends, our access is removed within 24 hours. Full detail: security and access.

How much does a managed Shopify store cost with Full Relay?
On the performance model, $2,499 at signing, then a commission on your store's results at a rate set in your written agreement. On the retainer, $1,499 onboarding, then $999 a month for a Shopify-only store with up to 10 SKUs, or $1,999 and $3,999 for more channels, SKUs and ad management. Shopify's plan, apps, inventory, shipping and ad spend are paid by you.
Who owns the Shopify store and the customer list?
You do. The store is on your Shopify account, the domain is registered to you and the customer data stays in your store. We work through a collaborator account that cannot take ownership and that you can remove at any time.
Do you design a custom Shopify store?
Full Relay sets up a Shopify theme to your brand, with product pages, policies, payments and shipping tested. A custom design, a Shopify Plus build or a migration is our separate Store Build service, from $4,999 for custom Shopify and from $14,999 for Plus or a migration.
How do I get visitors to a new Shopify store?
Mostly through paid ads at first, then search, email and social as the brand grows. That is why our research includes the cost to win a customer, and why Growth and Full Scale include ad management. If you plan to run ads yourself, we set up tracking and leave the budget to you.
Will my Shopify store make money?
Nobody can honestly promise that. Most new stores take months to find steady sales, and some never do. We test each product against fees, shipping and ad costs before you buy, run the store daily and report weekly. Results depend on the product, price, ads and how customers respond.
Can I sell on Amazon and Walmart from the same Shopify stock?
Yes. The Growth retainer covers two channels and Full Scale covers all three. We set up one stock count so the same units serve every channel without overselling. Walmart asks for ecommerce selling history, so it usually comes after your Shopify store has a record.
Who handles shipping and returns?
Either your own team or a 3PL ships orders. Shopify can sell you shipping labels, but it does not pick and pack orders for you. We help you choose and connect a 3PL during launch, and we handle return requests every business day inside the policy you approve.
How long until my Shopify store is live?
Typically 6 to 12 weeks from the start of research, mostly set by supplier lead time and freight. The store itself can be ready earlier and wait for stock. These are typical times, not promises.
What if I already have a Shopify store?
Full Relay can take over a running store and add new product lines through research and sourcing; we audit the theme, apps, policies and fulfillment first and tell you what we would change. If you only want daily running and no new products, Store Care or Ops Desk costs less. A free session with an ops lead will tell you which fits.
Full Relay also runs on other channels: see Full Relay on Amazon, Full Relay on Walmart or the overview of Full Relay, our managed store service.
