Shopify store setup: done-for-you, done right

Our Shopify store setup service gets your store right the first time: theme, products, payments, shipping, taxes, apps and stock sync, tested with real orders, for a fixed $999. The store is yours, and so is every decision.

Shopify Launch $999 one time · Up to 25 products · 30 days of support · Then Store Care from $399 a month or a written handover

Quick answer

A Shopify store setup service configures a new store so it can take and ship orders correctly. Ecom Relays does it for a fixed $999: a Shopify theme set up with your brand, up to 25 products, payments, shipping profiles, taxes, core apps, stock sync with your other channels and 30 days of support after go-live. You own the store and every login.

Most new stores take months to find steady sales, and some never do. Inventory, platform fees, freight and ad spend are paid by you.

What our Shopify store setup service includes ($999)

What it does not include

  • Custom design and development.

That is Store Build, from $4,999, or from $14,999 for Shopify Plus or a migration. See Shopify migration and store build.

  • Paid traffic and ad spend.

  • Your Shopify plan and app subscriptions

, which you pay Shopify and app makers directly. If you choose a paid theme, its license cost is listed in your scope document before you pay us anything.

  • Product photography and product content.

You provide them, or we write listings at $79 each.

  • Product research or choosing suppliers.

Under Shopify Launch, choosing what to sell stays your decision.

Shopify Launch is a setup, not a custom build or a marketing plan. Outside its scope:

If you want a team to research products and vet suppliers before launch and then run the store, that is Full Relay on Shopify, our managed store service. You still approve every product and supplier and pay suppliers directly.

How the launch runs

About 4 to 6 weeks from your Readiness Check to go-live. These are typical times, not promises; your product data and approvals set the pace.

Which Shopify plan should you choose?

Most new stores start on Basic or Grow. The right one depends on your order volume, your payment provider and how many staff accounts you need. Shopify's published US plans today:

PlanBilled monthlyBilled yearlyOnline card rate (Shopify Payments)Fee with another payment providerStaff accounts
Basic$39 a month$29 a month2.9% + 30¢2%Not included
Grow$105 a month$79 a month2.7% + 30¢1%5
Advanced$399 a month$299 a month2.5% + 30¢0.6%15
PlusFrom $2,300 a monthNot offered2.25% + 30¢0.2%Unlimited

Source: Shopify pricing page, checked Oct 20, 2026. Card rates shown are for standard cards; some cards cost more.

Illustrative · sample figures. A store taking $20,000 a month in online card payments through Shopify Payments, at an average order of $50 (400 orders): on Basic, card fees are 2.9% of $20,000 plus 30¢ × 400, so $580 + $120 = $700, plus $39 for the plan. On Grow, 2.7% plus 30¢ × 400, so $540 + $120 = $660, plus $105. At this volume Basic costs less; the gap narrows as volume grows, and Grow adds staff accounts.

We recommend a plan in your Readiness Check based on your volume and needs. Our free module on choosing a plan and setting up walks through the trade-offs.

How our setup compares

Shopify setup is sold at very different prices for very different scopes. Here is how the published options line up; the sources are listed at the foot of the page.

OptionPublished priceWhat you typically get
Theme vendor setup serviceFrom $500 for up to 20 products, typically in 1 to 2 weeks (one theme vendor's product page, read Oct 20, 2026)The vendor's theme installed, pages set up and products imported, with guidance on shipping, taxes and payments
Agency or freelancer setup$500 to $5,000 or more to hire a Shopify expert; US-based builds $3,500 to $12,000 or more (one agency's 2026 pricing guide, read Oct 20, 2026)Varies by provider; usually design-led
Ecom Relays Shopify Launch$99925 products, stock sync across channels, every checkout path tested with real orders, handover pack, 30 days of support, then an operations plan if you want one

If you only need a theme installed and a few products imported, a theme vendor's setup may be all you need. Shopify Launch is for stores that will sell on more than one channel or want someone to run operations after launch.

Done-for-you, done right: what that means here

You own the store, the domain, the customer data, the money and every decision. Our fee is fixed and published. Your named launch lead runs the daily work. Nobody promises traffic, sales or profit, including us. Owner-light, not owner-free: plan on 2 to 4 hours a week for approvals. If you leave, our access is removed within 24 hours.

Shopify Launch is built for founders and companies with a real product and the budget for inventory, fees and ads.

We work through Shopify collaborator access, which you approve, and you choose which sections of your store we can see. Shopify's own rule is plain: "Asking a merchant for their password, or using a merchant's credentials to access their store, is prohibited" (Shopify Help Center, checked Oct 20, 2026). Our full standard is on security and access.

The honest part

Most new stores take months to find steady sales, and some never do. Inventory, platform fees, freight and ad spend are paid by you and are not refundable by us if a product does not sell.

A well-built store does not bring traffic by itself. We never promise sales, profit or a date when you will earn back what you spend. Before you pay us anything, you get our scope document, our full fee schedule and a list of the costs you will carry on your own.

Launching on Amazon and Walmart too?

Any two launches are $2,499 and all three are $3,499, with one stock count across channels from day one, so a unit sold on Shopify is not sold again on a marketplace. See Amazon store launch, Walmart store launch or the Store Launch overview.

After the 30 days

Two options, your choice: Store Care from $399 a month to keep orders, stock, messages and apps running every business day, or a written handover of everything we set up, in your accounts. Day-to-day Shopify operations are described on Shopify store management.

What it costs

Shopify Launch is $999 one time, billed 50% at start and 50% at go-live. Extra products are $79 each. It is a fixed fee, never a percentage of your sales or ad spend. Full terms are on pricing.

Founding clients: 20% off launch fees, add-ons and the Foundation, plus 20% off monthly plans for the first 6 months. Open to the first 25 clients or until Jan 31, 2027, whichever comes first.

Proof you can check before you sign

These are written commitments.

  • Published price and scope, with a "done when" test for every item.
  • Billing 50% at start and 50% at go-live.
  • Collaborator access only; Shopify prohibits asking for a merchant's password.
  • Your named launch lead on the proposal before you sign.
  • A real person replies within one business hour, 9am to 6pm US Central, Monday to Friday.

Questions

Questions about Shopify store setup

How much does Shopify store setup cost?

Shopify Launch is $999 one time, with up to 25 products and 30 days of support after go-live. Your Shopify plan, apps, payment fees, any paid theme license and ad spend are paid by you directly. Extra products are $79 each. Two launches across channels cost $2,499 and all three $3,499.

How long does it take?

About 4 to 6 weeks from your Readiness Check to go-live: theme and settings in the first two weeks, products and apps in weeks two to four, then test orders and launch. Your product data, images and approvals set the real pace, so these are typical times rather than promises.

Which Shopify plan do I need?

Most new stores start on Basic ($39 a month, or $29 billed yearly) or Grow ($105, or $79 yearly). Grow lowers the card rate and adds five staff accounts; Basic includes no extra staff accounts. We recommend one in your Readiness Check based on your expected volume and team.

Do you choose products or find suppliers?

Not under Shopify Launch. Choosing what to sell stays your decision, and we check fees and margin on the products you choose. Product research and sourcing are part of Full Relay, our managed store service, where you approve every product and supplier and pay suppliers directly.

Who owns the store?

You do: the Shopify account, the domain, the customer data and every app, setting and login. We work through collaborator access that you approve and can remove at any time. Our access is removed within 24 hours when the work ends, and the handover pack lives in your account.

Can you also launch Amazon and Walmart?

Yes. Any two launches are $2,499 and all three are $3,499, with one stock count across channels from day one. Walmart needs a business tax ID and its own approval; Amazon needs seller verification; Shopify needs no application.

What happens after 30 days?

Your choice: Store Care from $399 a month, which keeps orders, stock, customer messages and apps running every business day, or a written handover of everything we set up. Store Care has a 3-month first term, then runs month to month with 30 days' notice.

Can you migrate my store from another platform?

That is Store Build, scoped in writing: from $14,999 for a Shopify Plus build or a migration, or from $4,999 for a custom Shopify build. Shopify Launch is for new stores with up to 25 products. See our Shopify migration and store build page for how a migration runs.

Do you write product descriptions?

You provide product content, or we write listings at $79 each: title, description and SEO fields. Product photography is not included. Good photos and accurate descriptions do more for a new store than any theme choice.

Will my store make sales?

We cannot promise that, and nobody honest can. Most new stores take months to find steady sales, and some never do. A store that works properly is the starting point; traffic, product, price and reviews decide the rest. Your free Readiness Check shows margin per unit before you commit.
