Walmart Marketplace automation: what to automate first

Good Walmart Marketplace automation protects the account first and saves time second.

It runs in your accounts, it alerts a person and it never makes the decisions that belong to you.

On Walmart, automate in this order: one stock count across channels, daily account health alerts, price floor checks against Walmart's pricing rules, catalog checks for unpublished items, return rules and claims tracking. Keep people on decisions: price changes below your floor, appeals, large refunds and anything that commits your company to terms.

What should you automate first on Walmart?

Start where a missed check costs the most. On Walmart, that is the account itself.

OrderAutomateWhy firstWalmart rule it protects
1One stock count across channelsOverselling becomes cancellationsCancellation rate 2% or below
2Daily performance alertsProblems found late cost days of salesEight standards; suppression ladder
3Price floor and reference price checksItems priced far above the reference price unpublish; Repricer can go too low without floorsPricing rules; Repricer min and max
4Unpublished item checksEvery unpublished day is a lost sales dayItem status reasons
5Shipping and tracking checksLate shipments and missing tracking are scoredLate shipment 5% or below; valid tracking 99% or above
6Return rules and reason reportsReturn rate is a standardReturn rate 6% or below
7Claims trackingWalmart's windows are short and appeals are not accepted on receiving claimsWFS receiving claims 10 to 50 days after delivery

What should never be automated alone?

Some actions need a person every time: a price change below your margin floor, a suspension appeal, a refund above a limit you set, accepting Walmart terms or new program agreements (only an Admin can, so keep Admin with people who can bind the company) and anything said to a customer that commits you to a remedy. Automation prepares the decision; a person makes it. Every Relay Module has a named human check written into its spec.

Relay Modules for Walmart sellers

Relay Modules are fixed-scope automations we build and document in your accounts. You keep them if you leave.

Scope and price are confirmed in a written spec before work starts. Anything that fails acceptance is fixed free for 60 days. Module Care is included on any monthly plan. Prices are published on our pricing page; advanced builds that connect several systems are quoted in writing within the range shown.

WFS reimbursement claims: included, no commission

Walmart pays back some WFS losses, but only when a seller asks in time with the right documents:

  • Receiving shortages:

open an investigation between 10 and 50 days after delivery to a fulfillment center. Walmart reimburses estimated sale proceeds based on the item's average sales price if WFS was responsible; appeals are not accepted (WFS receiving issues, updated Aug 6, 2026).

  • Customer returns:

dispute within 45 days of the dispute window opening; one case per order; Walmart does not promise full or partial reimbursement (WFS customer returns, updated Apr 2, 2026).

On every monthly plan we check for claims weekly, file and track them monthly and list each as "may be owed" until Walmart pays it. Claims are included with no commission. Many providers charge a share of what is recovered; we do not.

How is a module built?

  1. 01Spec.

What it watches, what it does, who checks it, where it lives, what "done" means.

  2. 02Build

in your Seller Center, your sheets or your existing tools, with named users and the narrowest access.

  3. 03Acceptance test

    with you, on real data.

  4. 04Handover:

an SOP and a short recording in your workspace.

  5. 05Care:

included on Store Care and Ops Desk; anything failing acceptance fixed free for 60 days.

Relay Module demo recordings (RD03 Stock Flow, RD05 Account Health Watch, RD09 Catalog Ready, RD10 Channel Launch) are planned for Jan to Mar 2027, recorded on real builds with sample data. Until a module is built in a demo environment, this page shows no mock video.

Can automation run my Walmart store?

No, and we would not want it to. Automation handles repeat checks and prepares decisions. People set prices, approve purchase orders, write appeals and accept terms. Be wary of anyone who promises that software will run a store for you.

Is Walmart's Repricer enough?

For many sellers, yes, if every item has a floor based on real margin and a ceiling near the market. Margin Guard adds what Repricer does not do: margin per SKU after every fee and alerts when a SKU falls below its floor.

What does a Relay Module cost?

$750 for a standard module and $1,500 to $3,500 for an advanced, multi-system build such as Stock Flow, with a written spec first. Channel Launch for Walmart is priced as a Walmart Launch, $1,499. Anything failing acceptance is fixed free for 60 days.

Who owns the automation if we stop working together?

You do. Every module is built and documented in your accounts and your workspace. When work ends, access is removed within 24 hours and you get a handover pack within 5 business days.

Do you charge a percentage of reimbursements?

No. WFS and other reimbursement claims are included in every monthly plan with no commission.

Can automation get my Walmart account suspended?

Badly built automation can, for example a repricer with no floor or a feed that sends zero stock. That is why every module has floors, limits and a human check, and why we connect through named users or approved apps, never a shared login.
