DEDICATED OPS TEAM · ROLE
Dedicated Amazon account manager, full time on your Seller Central account
A dedicated Amazon account manager is one named person who works full time on your Seller Central account and nobody else's. They watch account health every day, keep listings live, move inbound shipments, chase cases and claims and report to you every week. We recruit, supervise, equip and secure them; you pay their salary at cost plus a $399 monthly management fee.
Salary at cost + $399 a month · You approve the person · Replacement at no extra fee

Quick answer
An Amazon account manager runs the daily work of a Seller Central account: account health, listings, inventory and inbound shipments, Seller Support cases, reimbursement claims and reporting. A dedicated Amazon account manager from Ecom Relays does this full time for one brand, supervised by our lead, for their salary at cost plus $399 a month. You approve the person and keep every login.
What a dedicated Amazon account manager does every day
Your account manager keeps the account healthy and the catalog selling, so small problems are caught before they turn into a suppressed listing or an empty shelf. A typical month splits like this; your role scope sets the final version.
| Every business day | Every week | Every month |
|---|---|---|
| Account Health checked; any warning worked the same business day | Business Reports read: sessions, conversion and units by ASIN | Reimbursement claims for lost or damaged FBA units filed inside Amazon's window |
| Suppressed, stranded and inactive listings fixed | Restock plan built and purchase order drafts sent for your approval | Fee preview and storage checked against your price floors |
| Inbound shipments tracked to check-in; discrepancies opened as cases | Voice of the Customer and return reasons read for product problems | Catalog audit: titles, images, attributes and A+ content |
| Seller Support cases followed up until closed | Price and promotion changes made once you approve them | Brand Registry reports reviewed for infringing listings |
| Buyer messages answered, if you have no support agent | Weekly written report to you on a fixed day | Monthly summary with the period and source on every number |
A few Amazon rules shape the work. Lost or damaged FBA units are reimbursed at manufacturing cost from Mar 31, 2025. Claims for units lost or damaged in fulfillment centers are due within 60 days of the item being reported lost or damaged. So claims run on a calendar, not when someone remembers (verified platform facts, 2026). Amazon's low-inventory-level fee applies only when both the 30-day and 90-day historical days of supply fall below 28 days, so the restock plan watches both numbers. Titles are capped at 75 characters in every category except media. And Alexa for Shopping, which brings Rufus and Alexa+ together (Amazon, May 13, 2026), reads listings to answer shoppers, so catalog work now includes writing clear answers into bullets and A+ content.
Tools they work in
Your account manager works inside your Seller Central account through a named login, plus whatever tools you already use.
- Seller Central: Account Health, Manage All Inventory, the Restock Inventory report, Business Reports, the shipping queue for inbound, the Case Log, Voice of the Customer, the Fee Preview report and Payments reports.
- Brand tools once you are enrolled in Brand Registry: Brand Analytics, A+ Content Manager and brand protection reporting (Brand Registry needs a registered or pending trademark; Amazon, checked Oct 20, 2026).
- Product Opportunity Explorer for niche demand when you add products.
- Flat files and category listing reports for bulk catalog changes.
- Your own stack: a spreadsheet or inventory tool, a listing or analytics tool you already pay for and your shared drive.
How a dedicated Amazon account manager is measured
KPIs are agreed with you before the start date and written into the role scope. Where Amazon publishes a target, we use it. Where it does not, you and we set the target together.
| KPI | What it shows | Target |
|---|---|---|
| Order defect rate | Orders with negative feedback, an A-to-z Guarantee claim or a service chargeback, as a share of orders over 60 days | Under 1% (Amazon) |
| Pre-fulfillment cancellation rate | Seller-canceled orders | Below 2.5% (Amazon) |
| Late shipment rate | Seller-fulfilled orders shipped late | Ideally under 4% (Amazon) |
| Account Health warnings | Time from warning to first action | Same business day |
| Suppressed and stranded listings | Listings that cannot sell | Agreed with you; trend down |
| Claims filed | Eligible lost or damaged units claimed inside the window | All eligible |
| In-stock rate on top ASINs | Days your best sellers were orderable | Agreed with you |
| Weekly report | Delivered on the agreed day | Every week |
Amazon's account health targets are from sell.amazon.com (verified Oct 2026). None of these KPIs is a sales or ranking promise. They measure whether the work is being done, which is what you are paying for.
What you provide
- A named user login for your account manager in Seller Central, with the permissions the role needs. Never your owner password, and no access to bank, payout or legal-entity settings.
- A named contact on your side who sets priorities and approves purchase orders, prices and promotions.
- Access to the tools you already use, and any procedures you have.
- Payment for third-party software, directly to the vendor.
Supervision, cover and replacement
Your account manager has a lead on our side who checks the work every day: are warnings worked, cases moving and claims on schedule? KPIs are reviewed with you on a fixed cadence agreed at kickoff, and problems are raised in writing before you have to find them.
If your account manager leaves or is not the right fit, we recruit a replacement, you approve them and we handle onboarding and access at no extra fee. The departing person's access is removed within 24 hours.
What a dedicated Amazon account manager costs
You pay their monthly salary, passed through at cost and shown on every invoice, plus a $399 monthly management fee. Billing is monthly in advance, with a 3-month first term, then month to month on 30 days' notice. Your proposal states the salary before you agree.
For a US comparison, BLS does not track "Amazon account manager". The nearest occupation is online merchants (SOC 13-1199.06), whose wage data comes from business operations specialists, all other (SOC 13-1199): a national median of $39.93 an hour, or $83,050 a year, in May 2025 (BLS Occupational Employment and Wage Statistics, released May 15, 2026). A US employee also costs payroll taxes, benefits, equipment and space on top.
How the comparison works: divide a US salary by 0.70 to get its fully loaded cost, because benefits are about 30% of total compensation (BLS Employer Costs for Employee Compensation, June 2026), then compare it with the dedicated salary plus twelve months of management fees. On that basis, a dedicated resource can cost up to 70% less than the fully loaded cost of a comparable US hire.
Illustrative · sample figures
| Comparable US hire | Dedicated resource | |
|---|---|---|
| Salary | $50,000 a year | $16,800 a year |
| Benefits and payroll taxes (the 30% share: salary ÷ 0.70, less salary) | About $21,400 | Covered by the salary and the management fee |
| Management fee | None | $4,788 a year ($399 x 12) |
| Total | About $71,400 a year | About $21,600 a year |
| Difference | About 70% lower |
We use the same sample figures on every page so they can be checked; real salaries depend on the role and experience, and some roles show a smaller gap. Your proposal shows the real salary for each person, and the full method is on our dedicated ecommerce team cost page.
When a dedicated account manager fits, and when something else does
A dedicated Amazon account manager fits brands with enough Amazon work to fill a full-time week: dozens of active ASINs, regular inbound shipments, a steady flow of cases and an owner or manager who can set priorities daily.
Something else fits better if:
- You want us to own the outcome and the process, across Amazon, Walmart and Shopify. Ops Desk runs operations to a fixed scope from $1,499 a month.
- Your main problem is one area, such as account health, FBA reimbursements or Brand Registry. Those services cost less than a full-time person.
- Your main need is advertising. A dedicated PPC specialist is the better hire.
- Buyer messages take most of the time. A dedicated customer support agent costs less than an account manager.
Security and access
Your account manager uses a named Seller Central login with multi-factor authentication on a company-managed device in our production rooms. No shared logins, no owner password and no bank, payout or legal-entity permissions. We use the access route Amazon currently approves for outside service providers. Access is removed within 24 hours of any change. Read our security and access practices.
Ecomrelays LLC is a Texas company. Part of our team works outside the US, as one managed team with a named US-facing lead. Each resource works an agreed schedule that overlaps US business hours.
How much does a dedicated Amazon account manager cost?
Their monthly salary, passed through at cost and shown on every invoice, plus a $399 monthly management fee. The salary depends on experience and appears in your proposal before you agree. Third-party tools are paid by you. Terms: a 3-month first term, then month to month with 30 days' notice.
What does an Amazon account manager do?
They run the daily work of a Seller Central account: account health, listing fixes, inbound shipments, restock planning, Seller Support cases, reimbursement claims, catalog upkeep and weekly reporting. Purchase orders, prices and promotions go to you for approval before anything changes.
When should I hire an Amazon account manager?
When the Amazon work takes a full working week and you or your team keep falling behind on it: warnings answered late, stranded inventory sitting for days, claims missed. If it takes a few hours a week, a managed service such as Store Care or Ops Desk costs less than a full-time person.
Will they run my Amazon ads?
They can manage simple campaigns if you include that in the role scope. For accounts with real ad spend, a dedicated PPC specialist or our flat-fee ad management add-on is the better choice, because bid and search term work is a job of its own.
Do they work only on my account?
Yes. A dedicated resource is full time on your business and is not shared with other clients. They work an agreed schedule that overlaps US business hours.
Do I choose the person?
Yes. We recruit and screen candidates, and you meet and approve the person before they start. If they are not the right fit later, we replace them at no extra fee.
Will they need my Seller Central password?
No. They get a named user login with multi-factor authentication and only the permissions the role needs, never your owner password and never bank, payout or legal-entity settings. Access is removed within 24 hours of any change.
Can an account manager promise better sales or rankings?
No one can honestly promise that. They are measured on the work: account health metrics, listings live, claims filed, stock in place and reports on time. Those protect sales; they do not guarantee them.
All Dedicated Ops Team roles are on the Dedicated Ops Team page, every price is on Pricing and terms, and our Amazon store management page covers the managed services.
